Coaching Agreement & Informed Consent

Last Updated: 2026

Welcome to Thorns2Roses Coaching. This document explains the scope, expectations, limitations, responsibilities, and consent requirements associated with participating in coaching services provided by Thorns2Roses Coaching.

Please read this document carefully.

1. Nature of Services

Thorns2Roses Coaching provides relationship and life coaching services focused on areas such as communication, boundaries, relationships, conflict patterns, self-reflection, personal growth, emotional awareness, life transitions, identity, and self-worth.

Coaching is collaborative and educational in nature and is intended to support reflection, communication, goal clarification, and personal development.

2. Not Therapy or Medical Care

Thorns2Roses Coaching does not provide therapy, counseling, psychiatric care, psychological treatment, crisis intervention, medical treatment, diagnosis, or legal advice.

Participation in coaching does not create a therapist-client, medical-provider, legal, or fiduciary relationship.

If you are seeking mental health treatment, crisis support, medical care, or emergency assistance, you should contact an appropriate licensed provider or emergency service.

3. Client Responsibility

Clients remain fully responsible for their decisions, personal actions, relationships, communication choices, medical and mental health care, legal matters, financial decisions, and overall well-being.

Coaching may involve emotionally difficult conversations, reflection, accountability, and discussion of interpersonal challenges.

4. No Guarantee of Results

Coaching outcomes vary between individuals. Thorns2Roses Coaching makes no guarantees regarding relationship outcomes, reconciliation, communication success, emotional outcomes, behavioral changes, personal growth timelines, or life outcomes.

Clients understand that coaching is a collaborative process and that outcomes depend on many factors outside the control of the coach.

5. Recording & Transcription

Sessions may be recorded and/or transcribed using third-party platforms such as Upheal for coaching support, reflection, documentation, or note-taking purposes with client acknowledgment and consent.

Reasonable efforts will be made to maintain privacy and security; however, no digital platform can guarantee absolute security.

6. Technology & Third-Party Services

Coaching services may use third-party services including but not limited to Google Meet, Google Forms, Google Sheets, Gmail, Calendly, and Upheal.

Clients acknowledge that participation in coaching may involve electronic communication and digital data storage.

7. Confidentiality

Thorns2Roses Coaching will make reasonable efforts to respect client privacy and confidentiality.

However, confidentiality may be limited by technology limitations, electronic communications, legal obligations, safety concerns, and third-party platforms.

Thorns2Roses Coaching is not a covered healthcare provider under HIPAA and should not be considered a replacement for protected medical or mental health services.

8. Crisis & Emergency Policy

Thorns2Roses Coaching is not an emergency service, crisis intervention, suicide prevention, domestic violence shelter service, or emergency mental health treatment.

Thorns2Roses Coaching is not available for 24/7 emergency response.

If you are in immediate danger or crisis, contact local emergency services or an appropriate licensed provider.

9. Communication Boundaries

Communication outside scheduled sessions is intended primarily for scheduling, administrative coordination, and brief clarifications.

Extended emotional support outside scheduled sessions may not be available.

10. Termination of Services

Either party may discontinue coaching services at any time when appropriate.

Thorns2Roses Coaching reserves the right to decline, pause, or terminate services if coaching is no longer an appropriate fit, boundaries are repeatedly violated, safety concerns arise, services requested fall outside coaching scope, or behavior becomes abusive, threatening, manipulative, or unsafe.

11. Acknowledgment & Consent

By signing or electronically acknowledging this agreement, the client confirms that they have read and understood this document, understand coaching is not therapy or medical care, voluntarily consent to participate in coaching, understand the limits of confidentiality, understand the risks and limitations of electronic communication, understand no guarantees of outcomes have been made, and understand participation in coaching is voluntary.
